As part of the increase in matches within the National League for the 2019/20 season, NPUA with England Hockey are looking to recruit a second Umpiring Appointments Administrator to assist Colin Barthorpe with the umpiring appointments. The role, whilst being recruited by England Hockey, will be under the direct line management and responsibilities of the NPUA. Saying this, applicants do not need to be current members of the NPUA to apply and a representative group of key stakeholders are involved with this recruitment process. The job role We are looking for a coaches for our adult teams with a primary focus on the mens and ladies 1st XI squads, but with responsibility for 4 mens and 3 ladies teams. The person will need to be organised, reliable and committed. They will need to work effectively with teams captains, match day managers and the committee to deliver improved performance and results for the mens and ladies 1s team squads and the capability and overall performance for the remainder of adult teams in the club. Ideally they must be an England Hockey Level 2 coach, or equivalent. We welcome applications from player coaches. This is a paid role that would be suitable for a person to balance alongside existing full-time work or additional coaching or teaching work. Remuneration is based on an hourly rate (which is set dependant on qualifications) for coaching delivered. Selection via an initial paper sift followed by interview with SHC committee member/s Main responsibilities are; Setting out a coaching programme for delivery to all adult participants (in season and a strategy to take us 3-5 years out) One coach required for each of our mens and ladies 1st teams – the role holders will personally coach each team and travel with them to matches. Ensuring coaching is delivered to a programme you define to accommodate all abilities for the mens and ladies teams (3 mens and 2 ladies teams) with a view to delivering progress at all levels in the club. Encouraging and developing coach volunteers to gain qualifications and deliver coaching within the club. Support the recruitment of players into Sudbury Hockey Club teams. Supporting the junior coaching co-ordinator such that there is a complimentary coaching programme and link between the junior and adult coaching. Retaining and where possible growing the number of adults participating Running coaching camps/learning interventions throughout the year to maintain participation, improve capability and generate revenue for the club. GB & England Hockey takes player welfare seriously and has been a primary supporter of the2008, 2012 and 2016 Concussion in Sport Consensus Meetings. These meetings bringtogether the world experts in concussion every four years to review the current evidencesurrounding concussion. Following a Consensus Conference, a position paper (ConsensusStatement) is developed summarizing the current evidence based on knowledge in the areaof concussion. This concussion guideline has been updated to reflect the principles agreed following the2016 Concussion Consensus conference. These guidelines are designed to be used byMedical Practitioners and approved healthcare professionals. All other parties involved inconcussion management should refer to the guidelines for non-approved healthcareprofessionals and General Public. These Guidelines are meant to ensure that players who suffer concussion are managedeffectively to protect their short and long-term health and welfare. Scientific knowledge in the field of concussion is constantly evolving and the consensus process and scientific meetings will make sure that the guidelines keep pace with these changes. As you're probably aware, the Essex Women's Hockey League and Essex Hockey Umpiring Association systems received an update over the Christmas Period. All registered club contacts were emailed with how to use the new system, but it would appear a lot of the contacts are no longer administrators for the designated club. If you are a club administrator, but have not received an email about the new system, please get in touch with the Essex Hockey Webmaster who will be able to add you to the appropriate club. More information about the update can be found below. In the Club Administration Area: Club Webmaster Each club will have a "club webmaster". Whatever happens, this person will always have access to all functions in the club administration area. This person will be able to set the access rights for all other club administrators (see below). As part of the conversion process, we will set your initial club webmaster (typically the club secretary) Full Access Rights System Critically, for the first time, access to functions in the club administration area can be set by function and by team for each administrator. This means that the club administration area can be significantly simplified for administrators who only perform certain tasks and, for example, all of the functions for one gender of the club do not get in the way of the other gender seeing what they need to do. Immediate Changes Changes to club contacts and team contacts will no longer need to be approved by an administrator. They will take effect and be shown immediately, in accordance with the person's chosen privacy settings. Adding a Link to an Individual You will be able to add a link to a person as a club contact, team contact or potential administrator. The process will automatically trigger emails to go to that person to get them to register/confirm as a recorded person on the system. Everyone will now have access to the personal area, and access to the club administration area will be via the personal area. In the Personal Area: Better control of your contact information There are now three options you can set for each item of contact information you provide (email address, home phone number, work phone number and mobile phone number. For each item you can choose the level of privacy you want. The options are explained in the personal area. Immediate Changes Changes to your contact details will no longer be approved by an administrator. They will take effect immediately and shown in accordance with your privacy settings. Personal Changes History In your personal area, there will is a new report showing every item of information that has been changed in your records, showing the item, the change, who changed it and when it was changed. Option to use a Club Email Address If you have an email address that is provided by your club (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org), you can opt to use that for all club related emails. Mobile Support Most importantly, and the biggest upgrade the system has had, the personal area (now incorporating the club administration area) will be fully mobile and small screen device friendly. The system will recognize the size of the device being used and display all information differently based on that size. Going even further, the order that items appear will change depending on the device being used and the day of the week, giving all the information about a game today (if there is one) at the top of the screen. The changes for mobile support cannot be implemented as part of these initial changes, but will be in the next release in about six weeks's time.
